Leo Francis Gallant passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on February 27, 2014 at the age of 79.
He was born in Margaree, Nova Scotia on March 27, 1934 to Joseph Gallant and Florence MacDonnell. Brother to James, Sister Marie, Freddie, Arthur, Collie, Valerie, Isabel and Donnie. Loving husband to Carmen Séguin, wedded on July 23, 1960. He is survived by his “3 girls” – Jo-Ann (daughter), Lethia and Jaylen (granddaughters).
Leo was first and foremost a family man – protector, provider and a fighter. He was a man of many hats but of few words. A military man. A simple man. A man with his own brand of humour who loved to share laughter. A free spirit, Leo lived his life the way he wanted. He will be greatly missed and always loved.
A ceremony in honor of Leo`s life will take place on March 23 at 11 am at the Harmonia Funeral Home (185 Maloney West Blvd, Gatineau, QC J8P 3V7). Family and friends are asked to bring a small food offering (no bigger than the palm of your hand, for example, chocolate bar, cupcake, apple, etc.) to the ceremony.
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the CLSC Vallée-de-la-Lièvre. Donations can be made to the Fondation Santé de Papineau (www.fondationsantedepapineau.ca/faire-un-don) in Leo’s memory.
In Leo’s own words: “See you later alligator!”
