Gary (Chumley) Sellars 1952 – 2020

The family of Gary (Chumley) Sellars are saddened to announce his death on Jan. 4th, 2020 in Gatineau, QC. Born in Halifax, NS on Jan. 31 1952, he resided in Ottawa and Gatineau for over 40 years.


Predeceased by his parents, Norman and Myrtle Sellars, he is survived by daughter Jessica Scallen (husband Craig, daughter Georgia), sons Duncan (wife Kelly, daughter Abigail) and Lucas (partner Bianca). He is also survived by his beloved brother Wayne and Katherine, mother of his children, as well as numerous cousins and friends.  

Gary worked many years as a taxi driver and later as the most social flag man in construction sites around Ottawa. He loved music, movies, sports and trivia, always having a story that more often than not ended with a pun. He cherished family, always sharing photos with others. Known as a free spirit, he would preferred a party over a funeral. 
 
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 14th (1-4pm) at The Prescott, 379 Preston St, Ottawa, ON K1S 4N1. Please join the family to share memories and celebrate his life.
